We have a soft spot in our hearts for families who have adopted internationally.

Because we have, too. Our first daughter, Mira, was born in China. She became ours at eleven months of age. The picture on the left is the photo we got at the time of referral.

When we got home we made a 25-minute movie about the experience. We sent it around to our family and friends. Everybody loved it. Kids loved watching it. Mira did too (and still does).

These Chinese characters are xiao and meng, "little" and "dream."
We called the first movie Little Dream.

Because that is the English translation of Mira's Chinese name, Xiaomeng.

Every year or so we would collect the videotapes we had shot and make a new movie. Each one averaged about thirty minutes. Little Dream 2 covered the first eighteen months Mira was home. Little Dream 3 covered ages two to four.

When people started to suggest that we offer our movie-making services as a business, the name was an easy decision: Little Dream Pictures.

The videotapes and photographs shot on an adoption trip are incredible treasures for your child.

And they will be forever. We would love to help you make them even more of a lasting gift to your child – a movie that tells her or his story in the most compelling way possible.

Groups are welcome.

Some groups who travel to adopt become very close and would like a group movie to celebrate the experience and their relationship. (It doesn't hurt that this also gives you people with whom to share the cost!) Pooling everyone's video is a wonderful way to preserve the memories of where you went and what you did. It can also strengthen the bond of the children in the group.

What's next for the Little Dream series?

Well, we're a bit overdue for another family movie ourselves. In Little Dream 4, Mira finished pre-school, went to summer camp, turned five, entered kindergarten, and...

Went back to China for a sister!

Mira had already been back twice, working with her mom to help make things better in orphanages. But then the whole family went back to bring home ten-month old Jolie Grace Jeffrey-Craft. (That is her referral photo on the left.)

Jolie is terrific and simply adores her big sister. We had a fantastic trip and love having two little angels.
